I saw this on Pinterest and really loved it. I’ve been thinking about what makes someone a runner a lot these days and I think anyone who runs is a runner, just like this quote says. I’ve heard so many people say, “Well, I’m not really a serious runner because I only run a few miles a week.” Or, they think because they don’t race often they’re not runners. But I don’t think any of that is true. If you run, you’re a runner. It doesn’t matter if you run 9 miles a week of 60 miles a week. Be proud of it and run with 100 percent of what you have. Happy running this week!
I’ve run 4 half marathons and 1 full since I started running 2 years ago and still struggle to call myself a runner. I call myself an athlete instead
You are definitely a runner! And the nice thing about that is runners are athletes too!
Thanks for posting. I used to short change myself by not calling myself a runner but changed that outlook in the last few months. I think people might get too hung up on the number of miles ran but shouldn’t. Anyone can be a runner; just took me awhile to figure that out.

It took me awhile too! But I agree, many people get hung up on numbers but if you run, you’re a runner- simple as that!
I love this quote and I agree with you. It would be great to have this quote in a pretty picture frame or so, just to remind myself that no matter what, if I want to be a runner, I am.
I’m glad you liked it! I need to hang this in my house too as a friendly reminder :)
I call my self a runner, but don’t consider my self an athlete.
Everyone’s different, I consider myself a runner and an athlete.
I have to agree with you! It doesn’t matter how far you can run and how fast, as long as you run, you are a runner!
Thanks for this! :)
I agree with you too and I’m glad you liked it!
I love this! I used to think I wasn’t considered a ‘runner’ because I wasn’t recording a bunch of miles a week but I think you said it perfectly!
